The jet mud mixer is a special equipment for preparing and increasing the weight of the drilling fluid by adding bentonite, stirring, changing the density of the drilling fluid, changing the density, viscosity and dehydration of the drilling fluid. The effect of matching with shear pump is more prominent. Jet mud mixers are equipment used in oil drilling and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) together with solids control systems. The drilling fluid flows into the jet pump at a certain pressure. The fluid in the jet pump is first ejected from the jet nozzle, and then flows into the shear tube through the mixing chamber. The material is added from the hopper to the mixing hopper, and enters the shear tube with the airflow. In this process, they are dispersed and mixed. The mixed fluid flows out of the shear tube and enters the drilling fluid tank.
The shear tube is hollow and can expand gradually over a certain surface. It is mainly used to expand the shear force in the tube, further disperse the material, increase the mixing head, and facilitate the material to enter the circulation tank.
The shear tube has a fast flow rate under low pressure and a slow flow rate under high pressure, using Bernoulli effect. When the fluid is ejected from the nozzle at a high speed, the pressure in the chamber is relatively low; after the fluid enters the shear tube, the cross section increases, the flow velocity decreases, and the pressure increases.
